Disparaging Statements about CallWare Technologies and Its Products

CallWare Technologies, Inc., a leader in advanced voice messaging and computer telephony solutions, today filed a lawsuit in federal court charging Applied Voice Technology Inc. (AVT) of Kirkland, WA, with engaging in unfair and illegal competitive practices and intentionally making false and disparaging statements about CallWare and its products.

CallWare Technologies is asking the court to grant an injunction for AVT to cease its misleading tactics and practices and is seeking actual damages in the amount of $20 million and punitive damages in the amount of $60 million.

“CallWare Technologies is committed to building the computer telephony industry. We vigorously support fair and honest practices in our industry. Tactics that purposefully deceive the marketplace cannot be tolerated,” said John C. Saverino, president and chief executive officer of CallWare Technologies. “Computer telephony is an emerging industry and there is room for all to serve the market-but we must do so with fair competitive practices.”

“When others don’t play fair, it hurts more than just CallWare Technologies; from manufacturers to resellers to end-users to the industry itself, unfair tactics affect everyone’s success,” said Doug Williamson, chairman of CallWare Technologies.
