CallWare signs joint marketing agreement with Mitel to deliver plug-in LAN-based voice mail and advanced computer telephony

CallWare Technologies Inc. Monday announced that it has signed a joint marketing agreement with Mitel Corp. of Kanata, Ontario.
According to this agreement, the two companies will cooperate in providing complete Computer Telephone Integration (CTI) solutions for network workgroup environments. This agreement results from the specific design, test and certification of CallWare’s and Mitel’s leading product lines.
The business solution offered encompasses voice messaging and desktop call-center solutions from CallWare and business communications platforms (the SX-2000 LIGHT) from Mitel.

With this offering, Mitel’s VARs and interconnects can now offer their customers a migration path from stand-alone voice mail solutions to “Internet and CT-ready” voice mail systems. In turn, CallWare resellers can now offer CallWare-compatible Mitel PBX platforms for deployment within network environments.

According to Steve Pequegnat, manager developer programs at Mitel, “Our cooperation with CallWare ensures quality CTI products are available to our resellers and large installed base of customers. We have jointly tested and certified CallWare products to work with Mitel’s SX-2000 PBX line.
“The result is a communications solution that provides new business opportunities for Mitel’s channel and rich telephony solutions for Mitel’s customers.”

“We are very pleased to have entered into this relationship with Mitel,” said R. Craig Hansen, chief executive officer, chairman, and founder of CallWare Technologies. “This relationship ensures that CallWare products smoothly integrate with Mitel’s SX 2000 LIGHT telephone system.

“Today’s agreement gives channel partners that service and sell Mitel and CallWare products the chance to give an integrated computer telephony solution to their customers. Mitel’s customers also have the opportunity to benefit from productivity-enhancing, money-saving advanced technology and easy-to-use applications, without having to purchase new telephone equipment or introduce new networking infrastructure.
“CallWare customers benefit from the integration of existing network operating systems with the features and functionality of the SX-2000 LIGHT PBX platform.”

CallWare offers Internet-ready, CTI-enabled voice mail and desktop call center solutions that scale from small/medium offices to enterprises with distributed locations. Benefits to users include: significant cost savings, improved communications and “intelligent call management” applications.
For example, users of voice mail can see their messages graphically and, when combined with Caller ID, the user can see at-a-glance who left each message. A CallWare user can play messages in any order he/she wishes, eliminating the linear method of the telephone keypad interface.
In addition to powerful user features, CallWare voice mail solutions use the Internet as a mechanism to provide global communication without long distance charges. This provides significant cost savings and performance improvements over traditional AMIS networking.
