CallWare Technologies Inc. today announced integration with Lotus Notes Mail to provide unified messaging for both mobile and office-based users.
This integration allows users to view, control, save and forward CallWare voice mail messages from their Notes inbox, giving them access to their e-mail, faxes and voice mail in the same location.
“CallWare’s integration with Lotus Notes represents our continuing commitment to providing productivity enhancing business solutions designed to work with leading software applications,” said Reino Kerttula, executive vice president of Marketing for CallWare Technologies.
“The combination of these award-winning products allows users to save both time and money through unified messaging.”
With this integration, CallWare voice messages appear in the Notes inbox with a time and date stamp, subject of the message and caller information. Voice messages are differentiated from e-mail messages with a text message in the subject field. When a user wishes to hear voice mail, he/she selects the message and listens to the attached .wav file via a multimedia player.
Notes or other written information that is attached to a voice message using CallWare ViewPoint will appear as text with the .wav file attachment and can also be accessed from the Lotus Notes inbox. Through CallWare’s preferences, users can even specify the compression rate for voice messages to minimize disk space and bandwidth requirements. This feature substantially increases transfer speed when sending voice messages through the Internet.
“By integrating their CTI technology with the Notes and Domino collaborative environment, CallWare is providing customers with a unified solution to meet their messaging needs,” said Steve Sayre, vice president, Marketing, Lotus Development Corp. “CallWare simplifies business communications and enhances our customers’ existing applications.”
Future releases of CallWare’s integration with Lotus will include a server-based integration to Lotus Telephony OneStop. Integration with Telephony OneStop will synchronize CallWare’s mailboxes with Lotus Notes or Domino mailboxes, allowing total availability of all CallWare features directly from the Notes or Domino inbox.
CallWare’s integration with Telephony OneStop lets users enjoy all the features and functionality of voice mail, e-mail and fax from a single point of access. Users will be able to access all forms of messaging from either the computer or the telephone interface.
According to Imran Qidwai, director of Development, Lotus Integrated Multimedia, “We are excited that CallWare will be developing integration with Telephony OneStop. This integration represents more efficient and productive management for messages of all types with a greater degree of flexibility for customization. Together, CallWare and Lotus Telephony OneStop can provide real-world messaging solutions required by users.”
CallWare offers improved communications and intelligent call management applications to businesses of all sizes. With CallWare, users can instantly see their voice and fax messages with the time and date a message was left, length of the message and caller information displayed graphically. This information allows the user to intelligently decide which messages to address first.
A user can play messages in any order he or she wishes, eliminating the linear method of the telephone keypad interface. CallWare voice mail solutions also use the Internet as a mechanism to provide global communications without long-distance charges.
