CallWare Technologies Inc., the only NetWare-based provider of computer telephone integration (CTI) solutions, today announced its plans to provide enhanced unified messaging with integrated voice and fax services, building on the scalability and interoperability of its existing computer telephony solutions. This strategy will enrich current fax server solutions with CallWare’s CTI technology advancements.
CallWare currently supports integration with existing fax servers. However, due to end-user demand for enhanced CTI features, CallWare will release its proven, robust technology, which will enable intelligent fax routing, enhanced fax-back and fax-on-demand services, Internet/intranet faxing, fax broadcast and remote fax retrieval capabilities from any touch-tone telephone or over the Internet. The NetWare version will improve on the limitations of existing fax servers, such as manual routing, setting up DID lines, and purchasing expensive fax boards.
With CallWare’s intranet fax solution, a traveling employee that receives a fax in his or her mailbox will be notified via pager of the new fax. The employee can then retrieve the fax over the Internet and view it on his or her laptop PC. If a hard copy is needed, the employee can then direct the fax to the hotel’s fax machine.
“CallWare has proven its ability to develop and market telephony solutions on Novell’s platform,” said Bob Harbison, industry analyst and consultant. “This intranet-enabled fax strategy is the next logical step in offering complete unified messaging solutions and further integrating with the NDS architecture.”
“With this initiative we’re responding to demand from our installed base for fax solutions that are as powerful as our existing CTI messaging solutions in routing and Intranet capabilities,” said R. Craig Hansen, CallWare’s chairman and CEO. “The new strategy will provide scalable and affordable fax solutions to our customer base.”
CallWare Continues to Support Previously Announced Cheyenne Fax Integration For current Cheyenne users, CallWare will continue to integrate with Cheyenne FAXserve allowing users to view and access both voice and fax messages from CallWare ViewPoint. CallWare will also provide an upgrade path to its new intranet-enabled fax technology.
